It was autumn in Seattle and the boys were promoting their newly-released album “The First Days of Spring”. They were playing at The Crocodile that night and, although Charlie was desperately clinging to what remained of his voice, he and Tom stopped by the KEXP studios to play a few tracks. “I’m sure there are going to be others playing with you this evening?” the DJ asked. “There’s gonna be three more people with us,” came Charlie’s raspy response. “You got the best two, but there’s some more…” The best two, indeed.
